Today, March 30, Apple has started seeding the sixth and most probably the last Public Beta build of the soon-to-be-released Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite operating system for Macintosh computers. Now we can only assume that Apple plans to release the final version of Mac OS X 10.10.3 in the coming weeks.

When the fifth Beta release of the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite operating system was announced a couple of weeks ago, we said that it was the last one. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as the sixth Public Beta is now available for testing bringing various small improvements to its components.

What's new in Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite

As you might know from our previous announcements, the final version of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite will include the highly anticipated Photos for Mac application that finally brings convergence for your multimedia files, allowing users to immediately access photos and videos taken with their iPhone or iPad devices on their Mac computers.

Users of Mac OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite, should know that Photos for Mac is a replacement for the iPhoto and Aperture applications. Among other visible changes, Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite will include a redesigned Emoji picker, which will be available to all applications system wide, and support for Google's two-step authentication system.

Here's how to test the Public Beta of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite

The Public Beta update of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite is available for free to anyone who wants to test it on their Macbook or iMac computers, released as part of Apple’s OS X Beta program. This means that you will have to first sign up for the OS X Beta program, then open the App Store application, go to the Updates section and wait for the Beta update to appear in the list.

Next, you must click on the "Update" or "Update All" buttons, agree to the license, and then press the "Download & Restart" button. The download process will begin, but it will take some time depending on your network connection. After the download, your computer will be restarted for the update to be correctly installed. Do not touch the computer during the installation. Also, please note that you won't be able to go back to Mac OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite.
