A computer resembling the Mac design a little too close for comfort is the new exponent of Windows Vista certification. Back in October 2006, before Vista was made available to businesses in November and to the general consumers in January 2007, the Redmond company introduced a logo program for the operating system. Certified for Windows Vista logo or the Works with Windows Vista logo are both designed to identify computers, software, hardware and games that will integrate seamlessly with the operating system. DigitalLife 2006 in New York was the stage where 50 Microsoft partners introduced no less than 250 hardware and software products labeled with the certified or Works for Windows Vista logos.

"The Windows Vista logo helps customers quickly identify products designed and tested to take advantage of features in Windows Vista, helping them save time, money and energy when it comes to buying products for the new platform. Certified for Windows Vista hardware and software is tested against industry standards and Microsoft performance criteria for delivering reliability, stability and speed while meeting high security standards. In the program's first year, more than 2,000 products from vendors all over the world have received certification, and this week at Digital Life 2007 in New York City - the conference where the logo program began," revealed Microsoft's introduction of the one-year anniversary of Vista certification.

You will be able to watch the video via these links 100 kbps; 300 kbps and 500 kbps. There are of course additional items of hardware presented. But if you want a more complex list of all the hardware labeled with either the Certified or Works for Windows Vista logos, then you will have to access the "Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List." Microsoft is offering a similar resource for the applications that have earned the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo or the "Works with Windows Vista" logo available here.
