Speaking of out-of-the-ordinary keyboards, Cosmo Scharf has a design of himself, but it's not a tangible one. Still, it looks interesting and useful enough to share with the likes of you.

“I've been planning this for a while now, and I've finally finished,” Scharf says. “My Apple keyboard concept turned out pretty well. It adds an induction charge and sync on the right hand side for an iPhone or iPod and six programable [sic] OLED keys much like the Optimus Maximus Aux keyboard.” Cosmo even went on with creating an Apple-stylized banner for the Keyboard Concept that holds an iPod / iPhone. The description goes a bit like this:

Retaining the same crisp aluminum design and low profile keys, the new Apple Keyboard adds revolutionary new features. Place any Apple handheld product (such as an iPod or an iPhone) on the right hand side of the keyboard and it will automatically change and sync to iTunes. This easy-to-use feature uses the same induction technology in your everyday electric toothbrush, thus eliminating any need for wires or connectors when charging Apple devices. Embedded magnets make sure your iPod or iPhone stays glued to the keyboard when charging, while a rubber partition separates the charging station from the rest of the keyboard to make sure your device does not fall off when typing.

Speaking of the keyboard's programmable functions, the 6 available OLED controls, or “displays,” as  Scharf points out, are “encased in a beautiful glass that, when pressed, open up any application or web site of your choosing.” Basically, they provide shortcuts to the stuff you access on a regular basis. “You can even specify your own image for each key. It's your very own personal visual bookmark area that is completely customizable to suit your needs,” the description ends.
