The team at MacScoops says they have inside information from reliable sources stating that several, if not all Mac line-ups will be updated this summer. They say Apple will start making announcements as soon as March. MacScoop believes these updates are triggered by the announced launches of the Leopard and of CS3 for early this summer.

Black iMacs are supposedly being released sometime soon, according to specific information from sources: "the black color could be available only on the high-end 24 inch iMac and possibly the 20 inch as well."

"The three line-ups that have seen the longest product cycles are Xserves (August 2006), Mac Pros (August 2006) and Mac minis (September 2006)", says the team at MacScoop. They assume these are the lines that will be updated first, but they have no information confirming this statement.

Other hardware updates and releases were named, such as 8-Cored Mac Pros, smaller MacBook Pros and the 15-inch version of the MacBook. Rumors about these updates have been heard before, but there is no solid information to confirm any of these predictions.

Major launches are expected next month, namely the Leopard from Apple, along with iLife and iWork, and Adobe's Creative Suite. The team at Mac Scoop expects the updates "to coincide with the releases".

News yesterday said Prudential analyst Jesse Tortora has met with leading Apple members in Cupertino and discussed their plans for 2007. Apple reportedly said they will be focusing on their four major lines of products, Macs, iPods, iPhones and Apple TV. They made no mention of any planned updates for these lines of hardware.

We've only got to wait and see if any of these rumors get confirmed, meanwhile we'll keep you posted on the matter.
