A person with ties to the display industry has confirmed for CNet that Retina LCD panels are ready for inclusion in the next-generation MacBook Pros.

DisplaySearch Senior Analyst Richard Shim is quoted as saying that super high-resolution panels at 13.3- and 15.4-inches are already available from suppliers. These are the exact same dimensions used in the current range of MacBook Pros; only their pixel density is much larger - 220 ppi (pixels per inch)

“We're seeing it at 15.4 (inches),” Shim said in an interview “You can get it.” The parts will cost Apple an extra $100 to use, the report notes.

Several sources have confirmed this week that Apple is indeed launching next-generation Macs with upgraded displays, better processors and USB 3.0 connectivity at its annual developers conference set to kick off June 11th.
