Maxell are no strangers to the world of nifty audio gadgets and their latest release is indeed one thing to be looked at with respect as it boasts nice features while looking very good. Codenamed MXSP-110, this new speaker dock is the follow-up of the MXSP-1000 launched in November 2006; one could say that these 2 years that have passed meant a time of re-thinking some of the things about this dock series – and the 1100 model is the living proof of that.

The Maxell MXSP-1100 is a good-looking audio gadget for your bedroom but it could successfully complement the setting in your elegant office, as well.

And since between 2006 and 2008 there were quite some notable appearances in the world of digital multimedia players, it was a natural choice for Maxell as they decided to build the MXSP-1100 in compliance with the new standards. And thus we can now enjoy a docking speaker system with a universal cradle that can accommodate iPod and iTouch PMPs, as well as iPhones.

Of course, if you don’t have an iPod yet, you can still use the Maxell MXSP-1100 with your player because this dock comes with a 3.5 mm stereo Aux In jack, for true convenience; and of course, for personal listening, you get a headphone jack. The remote control supplied will also allow you to remotely operate your iPod as the Maxell MXSP-1100 will facilitate all the needed transport controls, including the 60-minute sleep function.

Inside its cylindrical body, the Maxell MXSP-1100 is loaded with full-range drivers encased in bass reflex enclosures, capable of handling 4.2 W RMS each and being thus sufficiently powerful for a bedroom or even an office. There’s no word on an announced price for the Maxell MXSP-1100 or on whether there will be any difference between the Mahogany Brown and the Black iron finishes. But come November 25, the shipping date, these things should be clarified.
