It would appear that Acer has brought a fairly extensive collection of devices to the Mobile World Congress 2011 expo, one of which is the Iconia Tab A500, a tablet powered by NVIDIA's Tegra platform.

Quite a few tablets have made their appearance at this year's edition of the trade show taking place in Barcelona.

Among other things, we managed to get hands-on photos and information on the specs of such items as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola XOOM and HP Touchpad.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 also became a subject of a certain press release on SanDisk's part, as it used the latter's new NAND storage.

Now, one of our colleagues attending the expo has managed to get his hands on this Honeycomb-loaded (Android 3.0) slate and snatched a few photos of the model on display.

As on would expect, it is based on the NVIDIA Tegra platform, the Tegra250 dual-core SoC (system-on-chip) in this case.

For those in need of a reminder, NVIDIA Tegra is an ARM-based platform capable of handling most any multimedia, not to mention basic computing tasks like document editing and web browsing. Adobe Flash Player is also supported.

The tablet's screen is a 10-inch capacitive multi-touch panel with WXGA resolution (1,280 x 768 pixels) that should allow one to enjoy HD arcade and 3D games, among other things.

Granted, the small screen size won't exactly allow one to fully exploit the 720p video playback (Xvid and MPEG4 formats are supported).

Fortunately, the company made sure to implement an HDMI port, through which one can stream HD content over to an auxiliary monitor or HDTV.

Other specifications include a 5 megapixel autofocus camera on the back (for recording), a 2 megapixel front-facing webcam (for video chats) and pre-loaded content (3D and online games, e-books and magazines-depending on country).

All the above are crammed inside a unibody metal casing, along with WiFi and, in the case of the Iconia Tab A501, 3G as well.
