One of the most interesting smartphones launched at Mobile World Congress 2015 is the ZTE Grand S3, which is already available of purchase in China.

The Grand S3 has already won the iF Design Award right after it got announced, but since January we haven't heard anything about it.

It looks like ZTE plans to bring its awarded smartphone to other markets in the coming weeks and European countries may be a good place to start.

As we mentioned earlier, ZTE Grand S3 has already been launched in China on January 17, but it wasn't made available in other regions.

The Grand S3 comes with an interesting piece of technology called Eyeprint ID, which allows users to take advantage of a password-free method of unlocking their smartphone. According to ZTE, this is world's first smartphone to employ the use of this security method.

Moving on to specs, the ZTE Grand S3 sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display and a decent 16-megapixel camera on the back, which is complemented by an impressive 8-megapixel camera in the front.

No Lollipop, but 4G LTE connection and high-capacity battery

On the inside, the Grand S3 is equipped with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Unfortunately, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, but the good news is the Grand S3 will be powered by a 3100 mAh battery.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with EyeVerify that brings their leading Eyeprint ID solution to the ZTE Grand S3. Our ZTE Grand series of smartphones is focused on offering the most secure devices in the market for business users worldwide.

“Coupled with EyeVerify’s leading solution, the ZTE Grand S3 represents an unbeatable option for smartphone privacy,” said Adam ZENG Xuezhong, executive vice president of ZTE Corporation and CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices.
