Polaroid is mostly known for its cameras, but lately the French company has been trying to enter the smartphone market as well. Polaroid has a new lineup of smartphones coming to market this spring, and among the Android devices, it also includes at least two Windows Phones.

Spanish blog WindowsPhoneApps has been able to cautch these two smartphones on camera during Mobile World Congress 2015. These smartphones seem to be just prototypes or early versions of devices that Polaroid plans to bring on the market sometime this year.

Their price starts at €149 ($161) outright and the cheapest is Advance 4, which sports a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution display and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Polaroid Advance 4's specs also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The Advance 4 will also come with dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS and removable battery.

Unfortunately, these are really low specs and the price doesn't make it competitive on the budget-friendly range where Nokia and other handset makers offer slightly better smartphones at better prices.

Moving on to the second smartphone showcased by Polaroid at MWC 2015, this one comes with dual-SIM support as well, but higher specs.

Both smartphones will be launched in Europe this year

Although it's powered by the same 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the Windows Phone handset is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The smartphone also sports a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS capacitive touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.

Connectivity-wise, Polaroid's smartphone will offer a range of options including HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, GPS with AGPS and 3.5mm audio jack.

They will probably be released with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system onboard, but Polaroid has yet to confirm when they will be available for purchase in Europe.
