Mobile World Congress 2015 is almost over, but there are still companies that announce their products at the trade fair and Micromax is one of the handset makers with a huge portfolio of Android smartphones.

The next addition to Micromax offerings is Canvas Fire 4, which is a mid-range smartphone that's already available for purchase from the company's online and offline stores for Rs 6,999 ($112 / €100) outright.

This is one of the cheapest Micromax smartphones powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop, and one of the few with the newest version of Google's operating system.

The highlights of the device are its metallic finish build and Cirrus Logic Wolfsan Stereo DAC and dual front-firing speakers. Apart from that, the Canvas Fire 4's specs sheet points to a mid-range Android smartphone.

In this regard, Micromax announced that the smartphone sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

A cheap Android smartphone with decent specs

The Canvas Fire 4 is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the device packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

As expected from a smartphone launched in India, Micromax Canvas Fire 4 offers dual-SIM support. Other connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS and microUSB 2.0.

The Canvas Fire 4 is only 8.8mm thin and is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery, which should provide up to 300 hours of standby time.

Micromax also confirmed it would come pre-installed with lots of apps and services, including M! Live, M! Games, Language Solution, Clean Master, Snapdeal, Chaatz, Ask me, Newshunt, MAD and many more.
