Information about the slate has been scarce, compared to the Sirius flagship

As MWC 2014 is just a few short weeks away, Sony has started issuing media events for its conference scheduled for February 24 (via Xperiablog).

Sony will certainly pull the veil off an Xperia Z1 refresh (dubbed Sirius in the press), but an upcoming Sony flagship tablet dubbed Castor has been rumored to make an appearance at the fair as well.

Last year’s Barcelona event saw the tech giant announce the Tablet Z, so it will certainly make sense for Sony to launch its successor a year after.

However, unlike the Sirius, Castor has been quite skittish in making an appearance or leaving a trace online. Back in late January, I told you that the device (with LTE in tow) had been caught making a quick stop at the FCC.

Apparently, the tablet is heading for Japan somewhere in the second quarter of the year, but there's currently no info whether the slate will make it to US shores too.

The infamous @evleaks also claimed the tablet (with Qualcomm Snapdragons 800 MSM897AB SoC) would make its first appearance at MWC 2014, but that’s pretty much all the info we have so far regarding it. Do you see Castor popping in in Barcelona?
