When you say TomTom, your mind probably thinks of the navigation app for tablets and smartphones and not of hardware.

Well, it seems the company has taken up the making of tablets, and at MWC 2014 it has unveiled the Bridge, a 7-inch tablet specifically designed for business users, notes TabletsMagazine.

TomTom says that enterprises can integrate their business applications through a single API for navigation and SDK for platform. Companies will also be allowed to brand and optimize the tablet, according to their specific needs as a distinct entity.

TomTom says their system will be suitable for taxi companies, rental firms and logistic business, but that’s obviously not set in stone.

If you’re wondering what specifications you’re going to be dealing with here, the Bridge comes with a 7-inch display and draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which keeps everything alive on the tablet.

Furthermore, there’s a single camera, USB port, microSD card reader and communication feats, in the form of Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi and 3G.

Of course, the slate comes pre-installed with TomTom’s own app offerings, including Maps and Traffic. The Bridge is expected to arrive on the market around April 2014, but so far no price specifications have been made available.
