The next-generation Galaxy S handset will arrive in April

Today, Samsung has finally unveiled the long-rumored Galaxy S5 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, confirming that its next flagship handset will arrive with a better camera and with a larger screen compared to its predecessor.

The new mobile phone will be released in April with a 5.1-inch full HD touchscreen display and a 2.5GHz quad-core processor inside. It will also feature 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot.

Moreover, it sports a 16-megapixel camera on the back and a 2.1MP front camera. Galaxy S5 is both dust and water-resistant, while packing a 2800mAh battery inside, capable of delivering up to 21 hours of talk time.

According to Samsung, the new handset includes LTE Cat.4 (150/50Mbps) connectivity inside, as well as all the other usual connectivity capabilities and sensors. The phone measures 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1mm and weighs 145 grams, while running under Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
