Samsung Gear 2 might be stealing all the spot-light at MWC 2014 as far as wearables are concerned, but an interesting competitor has been spotted making an appearance in Barcelona.

The Creoir Ibis is a smartwatch too, but it has been designed combining an Android hub and a conventional watch look, borrowing cues from jewelry design. The watch’s building material include stainless steel and crystal materials, so it’s pretty obvious it has a pretty premium look and feel.

The Ibis interface is actually a low-power, optimized version of Android OS and is also compatible with iOS and Android devices, says Pocket-Lint.

The smartwatch consists in a touch-enabled OLED display and boasts Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB connectivity.

Apps running on the device will work in concert with the on-board accelerometer, e-compass and ambient light sensor. As with most smartwatch models, the Ibis will connect to your smartphone, so you’ll be able to receive notifications coming from it, meaning you'll be able to see when somebody is calling you.

Creoir is a Finnish design studio, so the watch might arrive under a different brand name. So far there’s been no word about launching date or pricing, but its design does look beautiful and stylish, so we'll keep an eye out for it.
