The tablet is targeted at budget consumers and has low-range specs

I’ve been telling you prior to MWC that the first Firefox OS tablet was expected to make an appearance. So far, info around the web claimed the InFocus New Tab F1 is going to be the first tablet running the operating system to be hitting the market.

But other models will join soon. In Barcelona Alcatel pulled the veil off the OneTouch Fire S tablet, which is basically the first Firefox OS to grace us with a physical presence (via PhoneArena).

Don’t get too excited, because this model won’t make it on the market too soon and Alcatel specifies the tablet is a “concept.”

As for specs, the Alcatel OneTouch Fire S will be targeted at the “mass market” and its specifications include a 7-inch qHD display with 540 x 960 resolution, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and two VGA cameras.

Even if the tablet is not on display at Barcelona, Alcatel specifies the device is weighing 10.1 oz / 285 g and is 0.33-inch / 9.9 mm thick.

So far we’ve had no indication of when the tablet might arrive on the market, but would you pick one up when it does?
