Although made official last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony’s Xperia Z smartphone was still a welcomed presence at the MWC 2013 trade fair in Barcelona, where Sony also announced its availability in 60 countries before the end of this week.

This is the latest flagship smartphone from the Japanese mobile phone maker, launched with a 5-inch full HD screen on the front, and with a quad-core processor packed inside.

Running under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the smartphone was built with water and dust resistance, so that users could enjoy its capabilities in various conditions.

Furthermore, it was also packed with great imaging capabilities, courtesy of a 13-megapixel photo snapper with full HD video recording, as well as with a front camera for making video calls while on the go. The usual connectivity suspects are also included in the package.
