When it comes to large smartphones running under Google’s Android operating system, Huawei’s Ascend Mate is at the top of the list with its 6.1-inch screen, easily making even the 4.7-inch Galaxy S III seem puny.

Made official at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, the mobile phone can offer an HD resolution on its large display, but is capable of appealing performance levels due to its 1.5GHz HiSilicon quad-core processor, paired with 2GB of RAM.

The phablet also comes with 8GB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, NFC, and a 4,050 mAh battery inside.

On the back, the handset sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper with flash, auto-focus and full HD video recording. Furthermore, Ascend Mate packs a front camera for video calling, and runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
