Unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress 2012, HTC One S is a middle-class Android phone, though it is equipped by a powerful dual-core CPU.

However, 2012 is likely to be the year of quad-core smartphones, which puts all the dual-core handsets in the mid-range category.

Aside from the Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz, the phone packs an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, but no microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, the phone features an impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash, as well as simultaneous HD video and image recording capabilities.

Of course, HTC One S will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board sometime in April 2012. According to HTC, the phone will be up for sale from 144 carriers worldwide.
