IMGA (International Mobile Gaming Awards) has announced during the 2011 Mobile World Congress the results of the 7th annual mobile games competition. We have previously reported, one month ago to be more precise, all the nominees for the world's best Mobile phone games.

The 30 titles nominated in six categories included games such as Bird Strike, Bulba The Cat, Ghostwire, Ice Breaker, Galaxy on Fire 2, N.O.V.A. 2 and many more.

The best mobile phone games for 2010 have been selected by an international jury of experts, which reviewed a total of 263 games from 40 countries.

The jury has chosen the winners of the 7th International Mobile Gaming Awards as follows:

BEST CASUAL GAME - Plants VS Zombies, Pop Cap, Ireland BEST REAL WORLD GAME - AR Invaders, Soulbit, Israel BEST SPORTS GAME - Snowboard Hero, Fishlabs, Germany EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN - Infinity Blade, Epic Games, USA EXCELLENCE IN GAMEPLAY - Beyond Ynth, FDG Entertainment, Germany MOST INNOVATIVE GAME - Papa Sangre, Somethin’ Else, UK

Furthermore, IMGA has priced the ‘Grand Prix’ award this year to Beyond Ynth, FDG Entertainment, Germany.

Based on the agreement, the FDG Entertainment will be introduced directly to Orange, which was the competition's platinum sponsor, to discuss potential opportunities.

For the People's Choice Award, from the IMGA online public vote, gamers have chosen Perfect Cell, Mobigame, France, while the Operators’ Choice Award, voted by this year operators involved in the competition was won by Snowboard Hero, Fishlabs, Germany.

The standard was incredibly high and it is hugely reassuring to know that mobile gaming, which is such an important part of the mobile industry, is in such a healthy and robust state. Based on the entries we saw, consumers all around the world can look forward to many top quality games coming down the pipeline in the future,” said Raphael Goumot, mobile games director at Orange.
