Samsung G810 is the handset rumored to "defeat" Nokia N95

Samsung presented at the Mobile World Congress its 2008 mobile line-up that includes new phones as well as handsets that we already knew about.

The first phone that Samsung should be proud of is Samsung G810, the high-end successor of the (also high-end) G800. Leaked details about Samsung G810 first appeared about a week ago, when it was said to be the handset that can "defeat" Nokia's N95. Since then, things changed a bit, as Nokia officially presented its new N96 super-phone, hence now Samsung G810 has to compete against it instead of the N95, which is more than one year old. At the moment, no one can say if G810 will be more successful than Nokia N96, but it's definitely a phone that can stand beside the new Nseries without looking out of place. To be honest, in terms of design, I like G810 more than N96, but this is just a personal opinion that doesn't count (not to mention the fact that the design is not everything in a mobile phone).

Samsung G810 runs on Symbian v9.2 S60 3rd Edition and one of its best features is the 5 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, xenon flash, auto focus and video recording - a camera that will allow users to take pictures at a quality that few other phones can provide. Furthermore, G810 comes with a 2.6 inch touchscreen display, TV-out, built-in GPS (hence Geotagging is available), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Media player, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm headphone jack and so on. Integration for Google search, Gmail, Map and Youtube is also offered, as well as tri-band GSM connectivity and 3G with HSDPA, for high data transfer speeds (up to 3.6Mbps).

Samsung G810 measures 103 x 52.9 x 17.9 millimeters (almost exactly as Nokia N96) and offers a 130MB built in memory that can easily be expanded with a microSD card. There is no word yet about when G810 will be available, but it's rumored that its retail price will be somewhere around 585 Euros ($850).

P960 is another completely new handset from Samsung, and comes as a stylish slider with multimedia features. The phone resembles G810 a bit, in both design and features, and offers DVB-H support and a special TV-key for easy access to TV programs. Samsung P960 provides EDGE and HSDPA connectivity, a 2.6 inch touchscreen display, a 3 Megapixel camera, Media player, Bluetooth 2.0, FM Radio with RDS, USB 2.0, Web browser and document viewer. No details about pricing or availability until now.

Samsung F480 and Samsung F400 are the other two highly-featured handsets showcased by the South Korean producer at the MWC 2008.

Samsung F480 measures only 95.9 x 55 x 11.5 millimeters and, by the way it looks, it's a successor of the Armani phone released by Samsung at the end of 2007. F480 brings a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, image stabilizer, LED flash and video recording, HSDPA connectivity for up to 7.2Mbps data transfer speeds, and other goodies like Media player, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 and microSD card support.

Samsung F400 is a good looking dual-slider music phone that offers EDGE and HSDPA connectivity, an external speaker, Bang & Olufsen ICEamp sound quality, 3 Megapixel camera with video, 2.2 inch TFT QVGA screen, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0, Web browser and microSD card support.
