Nokia announced, at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain, the launch of Nokia Media Network, a global premium advertising network that includes more than 70 leading publishers and operators from all over the world, as well as Nokia media properties. Discovery, AccuWeather, Reuters, Hearst and Sprint have partnered with Nokia to establish this first global mobile ad network of first-class publishers.

"Nokia is building upon an unrivaled understanding of the mobile consumer, our relationships with blue chip publishers and top tier operators, and a legacy of campaign optimization through analytics to create a high-performing solution for advertisers," said Vice President and Head of Nokia Interactive, Mike Baker. "The biggest brands in the world trust us with their mobile advertising because they know the Nokia Media Network enables them to reach the largest, highest quality audience on mobile and provides the best ROI."

In October 2007, Nokia acquired Enpocket, a mobile advertising leader, and now leverages on its avant-garde analytics technology in order to optimize campaigns, enhance conversions and evaluate campaign performance across the network.

Nokia allows advertisers to place their ads on brand-safe, high-quality publisher and operator mobile Web sites, as well as on Nokia properties, for an unequaled world-wide consumer reach (over 100 million mobile consumers). A notable fact - Nokia's award-winning mobile marketing team creates mobile campaigns for a huge number of top brands, including Paramount, BMW and MobiTV.

"Mobile has been beneficial in helping BMW reach consumers at the lower end of the funnel, when they are close to making their vehicle-buying decision," said Samuel Martinez Ballesteros, Marketing Communication Internet and New Media, BMW Ib?rica. "Nokia has helped us reach our target audience, resulting in increased visibility and lead generation for us."

In order to share expertise with brands, publishers and agencies all over the world, Nokia enlarged its media sales and account management teams to include new offices in important cities like Beijing, Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai, Paris, Helsinki, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, New York, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago.
