Motorola officially announced today, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the release of three new mobile phones: MOTO Z6w, Motorola W161 and Motorola W181.

MOTO Z6w is the latest Wi-Fi enabled handset from the American company, and with the GSM and WLAN compatibility it comes to broaden users' wireless world for making calls, Internet browsing and multimedia fun by extending beyond multiple service areas, automatically switching networks to provide high-speed wireless services. The sleek Z6w offers media-friendly features, like compatibility with Windows Media Player 11 on the PC, a 2.0 Megapixel camera with video capture, high-speed USB 2.0 for fast downloads and up to 4GB of extended memory.

"We are proud to add our latest Wi-Fi enabled handset to our growing portfolio, delivering a compelling wireless experience to consumers anywhere they go," said Rob Shaddock, senior vice president, feature and mass market handsets, Motorola Mobile Devices. "The new W series handsets offer both great mobile phone basics and a solid music experience, in a candy bar form factor that you can show off with pride."

Motorola W161 and Motorola W181 are both affordable handsets that come to complete the W series, bringing the patented Motorola CrystalTalk technology (which allows users to have clear conversations even when in noisy environments), FM radio and long battery life-time (up to 590 minutes of talk time and about 465 hours of stand-by time). W161 measures 114 x 43 x 14 millimeters, weighs 85 grams and has an 128 x 128 black & white display. W181 measures 110 x 45 x 15 millimeters, weighs 80 grams and packs an 128 x 128 65K color display.

MOTO Z6w, Motorola W161 and Motorola W181 will be available in the second quarter of 2008, but there are no details about pricing nor the first markets to get the phones.

During the Mobile World Congress (11 - 14 February), Motorola will also showcase some of the company's award-winning handsets, including ROKR E8, MOTO Z10 and the EQ7 and EQ5 music phones.
