GSmart, the mobile phone brand owned by Gigabyte Communications Inc., is showcasing at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain (11 - 14 February), its first 3.5G Windows Mobile PDAs,
as well as new mobile TV and GPS handsets. Additionally, GSmart will introduce an exclusive graphic user interface and innovative modularized platforms for the first time.

GSmart MS808 is probably the most important device that the Taiwan-based producer is presenting, as it's the world's first 3.5G mobile TV with built-in GPS and support for DVB-T, DVB-H, T-DMB and ISDB-T. Another interesting device is GSmart MS804, "the only 3.5G sliding phone on display", coming with digit dial keys and cap-sensor. Furthermore, Gsmart also showcases MS800 and MS820, two ultra-slim HSPDA GPS phones. If MS800 was announced before MWC, MS820 is a completely new handset that offers graphic user interface and an exclusive motion-sensing G-Sensor.

All the announced GSmart phones are planned for launching during 2008 and will feature graphic user interface to provide an easy-to-use mobile environment.

Besides the handsets presented, the Taiwanese producer continues its tradition in announcing new concepts to the mobile industry and introduces modularized platforms, where all the important features, including TV, GPS, storage and modem (EDGE, HSDPA, WCDMA), become optional (GSmart q60 was the first modularized handset model). Consumers will now have the chance to pick different feature combinations, suitable to their needs.

MD800 is another product showcased by GSmart, and it comes as the the world's first and only 3-in-1 wireless data card with GPS/AGPS and 3.5G, combining mini USB, Express card and PCMCIA interfaces by switching the adapter.

"Following the success of the award winning digital TV PDA phone, GSmart t600, we are leading the industry in delivering Mobile TV," said Dr. Stanley Jenq, Chief Executive Officer of Gigabyte Communications. "With the new 3.5G TV and GPS series, and our modularized production system, we offer smart technologies that will fulfill the everyday needs of mobile users with speed and unprecedented quality."
