Kristin Cavallari says MTV might go back on its word, order another 12 episodes of “The Hills”

Since its debut in 2006, MTV’s “The Hills” has seen a plunge in ratings so severe that the network officially announced a short while ago that it had decided it was time to pull the plug on it and that the sixth season would also be its last. Either no one informed star Kristin Cavallari of it or she has inside knowledge, which is more likely, E! Online says.

Speaking with the e-zine just recently, Cavallari let it slip that, though the official line is that MTV will ax “The Hills” once this season is over, chances are it might actually order 12 more episodes. Apparently, they’ve been bringing on board new people and the stories have evolved in such a way that they might actually boost ratings, thus warrant a whole new season. At least, that’s what Kristin hopes for.

“We thought next Tuesday’s premiere of The Hills: Final Season was it for the reality show. No more episodes after the upcoming 12. Nothing. Nada. Kaput. Well, guess what? It may not be the end after all. We’ll let Kristin Cavallari explain… ‘There’s a possibility of them ordering 12 more episodes,’ Cavallari told us earlier today,” E! writes after talking to the star. Of course, if she were on the outside of this, as the saying goes, she probably wouldn’t be talking to the media, which would mean she’s at least partially accurate in her assertions, it is being said.

“I would like to do it. I’m in such a rhythm with things and I’m having a great time. We’re just now starting to get into some really good juicy stuff with a few new people. So I think we could do another 12 episodes and make it pretty good,” Cavallari adds. What she could also see happen next is her rekindling her romance with Brody Jenner. “I can’t deny the fact that he is one of the most good looking men in the entire world. We have a lot of fun together. I don’t know if we could ever really get back together and be serious, but we are sort of trying to see if we could,” she gushes.

Whether MTV will renew “The Hills” or not is still to be determined. However, what with Heidi Montag unveiling her surgically altered face next, chances are ratings will soon surge, which could prompt the network to go back on its initial decision.
