Lady Gaga leads nominations for Europe Music Awards 2011 with 6 nods

MTV is getting ready again to celebrate the best of the best in music, this time with the Europe Music Awards, the nominations for which have just been announced. Of the artists from all over the world, Lady Gaga packs the most nods.

The awards show will take place in Belfast at the Odyssey Arena on November 6, which means fans of the acts nominated have only this long to wait to see if their favorites will go home with one of the awards.

At the same time, fans will also be able to vote for their idol in the newly-introduced Biggest Fans category, which will aim to honor the artist with the biggest, most solid and, of course, most loyal fanbase.

Voting is now possible online over at MTV (see here if you’re looking to show your support to your fave pop stars), but you’re also supposed to engage with the EMA content on the site for better odds for your idol.

Another new category is that of the World Wide Act, “which celebrates diversity and the breadth of all the music that MTV has to offer by nominating incredible artists from all corners of the world,” MTV informs.

Other than that, the nominations see Lady Gaga lead the pack with six nods, while Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Adele, Justin Bieber and 30 Seconds to Mars follow close by.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry will be pitted against each other in no less than four categories, Best Live, Best Song, Best Female and Best Pop – so rest assured that competition will be pretty tight.

British singer Adele, officially the best sold artist of this year, is also in the running for Best Song and Best Female, together with Best Video for “Rolling in the Deep.”

The full list of nominations is below. The MTV EMAs air live on the 6th on all MTV international channels, and the next day in the US, on mtvU.
