The MTV Movie Awards 2014, held last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, were all about having fun, but on at least a couple of occasions, the tone of the gala turned somber. One of them was when Jordana Brewster held a speech during the Paul Walker tribute.

The “Fast & Furious” actor died last November in a one-vehicle crash that also claimed another life, that of his good friend and business partner Roger Rodas.

Walker’s death left behind a heartbroken family and teen daughter, friends, and millions of fans from all corners of the world. But there was much more to Paul than just being an action movie star and celebrity, Jordana stressed in her touching speech.

She knew Paul as friend too, after spending a lot of time together on the set of the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

“He was humble. He thought about others. Whether you knew Paul for five minutes or a close friend, he made you feel like the most important person in the world. For Paul, every day was an adventure to be tackled and he wanted to make a difference in this world,” Jordana said, fighting back tears.

Paul never asked for media attention for his humanitarian or charitable endeavors, but he did use his celebrity status to bring attention to certain causes he held closer to his heart. He was kind, he was funny, and he was very generous to all those around him. “He was such a good guy,” Jordana said.
