On more than 2,000 handsets

Thumbplay, a leading US mobile entertainment company headquarted in New York, announced that MTV Networks selected its services in order to enhance and take care of its mobile content for the following channels: MTV, MTV2, MTV Tr3s, MTV Jams and MTV Hits.

Following the new agreement, MTV Mobile will receive personalized content from Thumbplay, including MTV-related ringtones, games, applications, wallpapers and so on. Music and MTV lovers will be able to buy new content, directly on over 2,000 mobile handsets that are currently supported by Thumbplay. Moreover, a so-called "online content locker" will be available for users, providing automatic back-up for any item they purchase.

The new and enhanced content will be promoted by MTV via on-air and online marketing as well as on the MTV Mobile websites.
