MTV has drawn bitter criticism from many media outlets for the brand new cartoon series 'Where My Dogs At?', revolving around the lives of celebrities, as seen through the eyes of two big-mouthed satirical dogs. The series barely reached its second episode, titled 'Woofie Loves Snoop' and it has already spurred a major controversy in the US.
The episode, initially aired on July 1st showed a Snoop Dog look-alike strolling on the street with two leather-clad women on leashes and on fours. At one point, Snoopathon Dogg Esquire III puts on a rubber glove to pick up the excrement left on the floor by one of the ladies. The women are presented as subdued to their master's every command, all the while scratching themselves.
The animated series airs 12.30 P.M on Saturdays, when many underage children are very likely to be watching television, and this was one of the first arguments brought in by the critics. The other one was the depiction of Black women as 'bitches and hos', considered as an 'extension of dehumanizing images contained in gangsta rap videos aired by MTV and projected around the world as 'real' Black culture'.

The critics, mostly prominent figures of Black women from the media industry, deemed the cartoon too racist to continue airing, as never before had they seen anything so offensive. But MTV fights back, claiming that 'Where My Dogs At?' is nothing but a harsh satire directly aimed at today's society.
The second episode was 'in fact, a parody of an actual appearance Snoop Dog made where he was accompanied by two women wearing neck collars and chains. We certainly do not condone Snoop's actions and the goal was to take aim at that incident for its insensitivity and outrageousness', a spokesperson for MTV said.
The 'Woofie Loves Snoop' episode was pulled off from the MTV official website, due to the public outcry. But the critics are asking more than that namely, that it is never to be aired again and it has even been hinted that the cartoon be canceled completely.
