Regional carrier Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) has just announced that it will launch the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and the BlackBerry Bold 9900 in the coming weeks.

MTS subscribers will be able to purchase the Torch 9810 by the end of August and the Bold 9900 in early October.

These are the first two next-generation of BlackBerry 7 smartphones that will be available at MTS, but the operator may carry the Torch 9860 as well.

No information about the phone's price options have been revealed yet, but they will most likely be valued according to other carriers' prices.

Since we launched our 4G network in March, MTS has seen increasing demand for smartphones and we are pleased to make available to our customers throughout Manitoba the latest BlackBerry devices,” said Stan Kurtas, vice president, Marketing, MTS.

Customers who prefer the slider form factor will be excited by the new Torch 9810 smartphone, which was built on the popular BlackBerry Torch 9800.

Obviously, the Torch 9810 is faster and more fluid thanks to its more powerful 1.2 GHz processor and the new BlackBerry 7 OS, which allows for an enhanced multimedia experience.

The smartphone comes with a 3.2-inch high resolution capacitive touch display and a full QWERTY keyboard that allows for faster typing.

We are always working to bring our customers the latest in technology and the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and BlackBerry Bold 9900 are both high performing smartphones built on the new performance driven platform - BlackBerry 7 OS,” added Kurtas.

MTS customers who are ready to wait patiently until October to purchase the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be happy to find that this is the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone at only 10.5 mm.

The hardware configuration of the Bold 9900 is similar to those of the Torch 9810, but it also includes built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications).
