Indian carrier MTS has just announced two new budget CDMA Android smartphones in the sub Rs. 5,000 category (about $110).

Dubbed MTS MTag 3.1 and MTS Livewire, both smartphones run Google's Android 2.2 Froyo and feature Qualcomm S1 processors.

However, the main strong point of the devices is the low price, as well as the usage bundles offered by MTS, including free talk-time, free SMS, free data and more.

The handsets are delivered with CDMA EV-DO Rev A. technology on board for high quality voice and net enabled data services.

This initiative has been designed to take the power of Android to the masses. Launched in the sub Rs. 5000 category, these are the most affordable Android smartphones in India,” said Vsevolod Rozanov, President & CEO, MTS India.

Manufactured by Huawei, the MTS MTAG 3.1, also known as Huawei C8511, features a sleek body and comes with a 2.8-inch capacitive multi-touch display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

MTS MTAG 3.1 sports a 3.2-megapixel camera and comes pre-loaded with a MTS TV application allowing users access to Live TV and On demand video playback while on the move.

The MTS Livewire (ZTE N600) is manufacturer by Chinese handset maker ZTE and provides users easy access to Google Mail, YouTube, Google Talk and Google Maps.

In addition, the Voice Search feature allows users to find information without having to type anything.
