Microsoft has announced that MSN Music in the United Kingdom will be part of the Zune music community, once it is released in the UK, next month.

The main reason is that the two services complete one another so this is only a natural decision, reports neowin.

Microsoft says that “MSN Music will create links in its music editorial to related content on Zune.net, giving users quick and easy access to the music they care about in the Zune Marketplace.”

Steven Wilson-Beales of MSN Music stated regarding the forthcoming integration that “people will now be able to consume a range of music news, videos, spotlights on new music and artist information and have at their fingertips, the ability to purchase and listen to the music they want, wherever they want.

“The integration between MSN and Zune Pass will allow subscribers to log in from any supported web browser for unlimited access to a catalog of 7 million songs in the Zune Marketplace,” he added.

MSN Music contains all of the most recent news from the music industry, including exclusive interviews and content, as well as videos and downloads.

Microsoft said that customers will also have the possibility of buying music via the new entertainment portal, and more than that, it actually invites “existing customers of the MSN Music download store to discover the new service”.

So it looks like Brits will keep on going to MSN Music for finding out the latest in music, and to Zune for buying or streaming the music they like; on both websites there will be links to other related information and songs.

Until now, no date for this integration has been established, but it would be logical if the event occurred at the same time as the launch of Zune in the UK.

MSN UK is the largest news and entertainment portal in the UK, with 25 million unique users each month (58% of the UK’s internet audience).

Zune is Microsoft’s entertainment platform and ecosystem, and it allows people to buy and download music and videos.
