Micro Star International is expected to showcase a series of its latest portable computer systems at next year's Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company is also anticipated to unveil some new products as part of its portable PC system lineup, at least one of which will be its first touchscreen netbook. The said portable computer will likely compete with a similar product from the company's rival, ASUS, which has already indicated that its touchscreen netbook models will be ready as soon as Q1 2009.
Unfortunately, at this point in time there are not any specific details regarding the company's upcoming touchscreen-enabled netbook system. However, recent details seem to indicate that Micro Star International plans to showcase a 10-inch netbook and a 16-inch one at the show. The displayed systems will provide the company with info on just how popular the two designs and form factors really are.
MSI also intends to display a “special” new ultraportable, dubbed U300, which will not be part of the company's Wind range of products. The U300 will, however, come to provide a slim design, which, combined with an aluminum chassis, has the potential of turning into a real money maker for the company.
No details on technical specifications or price tag, for that matter, but it looks like we should be expecting a 13.3-inch LCD screen. The U300 could come out as an Atom-powered notebook that can offer users the basics in portable computing at low power requirements and a sleek design.
We are still some time away from the official unveiling of the aforementioned portable computer system, which is all the more a reason to be looking forward to the opening of Consumer Electronics Show , in 2009, that will take place between 8 and 11 of January, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
