When the MSI Wind Top AR2220 all-in-one desktop PC was launched back in 2009, it gave the impression that it would turn out to be a strong option for those end-users interested in a home computer with good performance and useful features in a compact frame. After several months, the product seems to have performed well enough for MSI to launch it in the United Kingdom, where it is now known as the Wind Top AE2220 Hi-Fi all-in-one PC.

The 21.5-inch display that the product uses is designed with multitouch capabilities and has a maximum resolution of 1,920x1,080 Full-HD. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 central processing unit (CPU), has 4GB of DDR2 memory and the NVIDIA ION chipset with an integrated GeForce 9-series IGP. The product also boasts an integrated webcam and two 5W speakers, as well as an extra pair of features, responsible for the Hi-Fi in the product's name.

The Hi-Fi, according to MSI, Hexus says, comes with the company's proprietary Premium Sound Technology and strengthened SRS virtual sound technology. Combined with the "full-range 5W hi-fi speakers mounted through an acoustic suspension system and a magnesium-aluminium alloy membrane," sets the stage for an audio experience that "compares favorably to other high-end audio systems."

Other specifications of the all-in-one MSI Wind Top AE2220 Hi-Fi include a hard drive with a storage capacity of 640GB, an HDMI or a VGA input (for connection to other video sources), a 6-in-1 card reader and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. The package also includes a wireless keyboard and mouse and a bundled MCE remote, which can communicate with the PC via the built-in IR receiver). MSI is also offering the option of also including a Blu-ray drive and a TV tuner.

All these features are packed inside a space-efficient package that carries a rather reasonable starting price of £799.99.
