Well-known mainboard manufacturer, Taiwanese company MSI is getting ready to launch its fastest GTX 660 video card. The new card will probably be the fastest GK106 implementation on the market when launched.

The official naming of the new card will likely be MSI GeForce GTX 660 Hawk Edition and it features a custom PCB with a 8+2 phase VRM.

The cooling system has two 9-centimeter fans and the card also features a metallic backplate that will improve on cooling and will also add to the card’s sturdiness.

MSI has reportedly clocked the GK106 GPU to a high 1110 MHz base clock, but when Boost is enabled, the chip will reach 1176 MHz and that is probably the fastest factory overclock of a GTX 660 video card.

The memory is unfortunately left at the reference 6 GHz.

Pricing is not yet known, but the card should reach retail in the following weeks.
