Earlier this month, traces of an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro laptop with the new Maxwell-based NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M GPU appeared online, so we told you the laptop should arrive soon.

And we were right in our assumption, as NVIDIA officially detailed its new graphic cards this week and gaming solution providers have hurried to announce products embedding the recently announced GPU standard.

Some companies like CyberPower have pushed out all-new laptops, but others like MSI have merely updated existing models with NVIDIA’s newest GPU.

MSI revamps current products

The GS60 Ghost Pro notebook launched back in March bundled with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 870M GPU. Well, now MSI will be offering the laptop with the new graphics card, but as it turns out this won’t be the only product in the MSI lineup to be getting the upgrade.

The latest update will apply to all ultra-thin GS70 Stealth Pro but also to the powerful GT72 Dominator, GT70 Dominator and GT60 Dominator gaming laptops.

On top of that, MSI is also throwing in a special edition GS70 Stealth Pro model which arrives with a Crimson Red coloring option. All GS and GT gaming laptops will ship out with NVIDIA GTX 900M graphics and will be available starting from $1,599 / €1,266.

All laptops take advantage of powerful 4th gen Intel Core i7 processors for the Haswell family and bring to the table a slew of features including Killer E2200 Game Networking, Sound Blaster Cinema, Dynaudio Technology, XSplit Gamecaster, 4K HDMI Output, Matrix Display and NVIDIA Surround View.

MSI also throws in some of its own technologies

Some of the models we mentioned above will ship out with MSI’s own Super RAID technology which provides support for up to 4x M.2 SATA SSDs in RAID O, ultra-high resolution 3K display and Killer DoubleShot Pro combining Killer E2200 Game Networking with Killer N1525 AC.

MSI’s revamped laptops also take advantage of the SHIFT power adjustment technology, which allows users to alter GPU and CPU performance according to their respective needs.

SHIFT allows users to choose between three distinct modes, including Sport for maximizing CPU and GPU performance for extreme performance, Comfort for a balanced performance and Green, which lowers both CPU and GPU performance levels, while maintaining the lowest temperature for both.

We should also note that the benefits brought about by MSI’s own technologies are complemented by what NVIDIA’s latest 900M series brings to the table.

The company’s new GPUs focus on providing a longer battery life and longer game-play times while users are off the chord.

MSI’s latest batch of gaming laptops is already available for purchase.
