Since MSI is already known to have prepared more than one slate for the upcoming CES, it is not altogether surprising to hear that one of them has been caught on video, which is exactly what happened to the one running Windows.

As end-users know, the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show is set to take place in early January, meaning that it is just around the corner.

Thus, the companies that will attend have already prepared the products they mean to display, and MSI is no exception.

Only a short time ago it was revealed that, among other things, the outfit was going to show off a pair of tablet PCs.

Going by the names of WindPad U100A and U100W, they are media slates loaded with the Android and Windows operating systems, respectively.

Now, the folks over at NetbookNews seem to have succeeded in getting to spend some time with the latter of the two.

In fact, they even shot a video of the Windows tablet, though the impression it gave the team doesn't seem to have been altogether favorable.

Apparently, the Intel Atom Silverthorne Z530 central processing unit can't perfectly handle everything that the models is supposed to be able to do, being based on an arguably old chip design.

The use of the processor is justified, so to speak, by MSI as being the most recent one that would allow them to stick to passive cooling.

On the bright side, however, the 10.1-inch touchscreen display was bright and clear and the accelerometer quite responsive.

For those in need of a reminder, the MSI WindPad U100W also has a solid state drive with a capacity of 32 GB, plus WiFi.

Regardless, the conclusion drawn by the video is that the slate might have trouble once it reaches the market because of the overall underwhelming performance.
