Coming to distinguish itself from the many Android-loaded tablets on the market, MSI's WindPad 110W has reached European stores, or will soon do so, now that its official release has been made there.

Micro-Star International is one of the companies that developed tablets based on AMD's Fusion technology.

These products stand apart from most media slates of today through not just this difference in processing platforms (x86 instead of ARM), but also through the OS.

More specifically, instead of the Android operating system from Google (be it version 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 or some other one), the WindPad 110W, as the product is called, features the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional.

The hardware combination that allows said OS to run smoothly is one that would give many a PC, especially of the low-end type, a run for their money.

The two Bobcat cores of the AMD's Z-01 Desna APU (accelerated processing unit), clocked at 1 GHz, are just one part of the equation.

Said frequency is complemented by the Radeon HD 6250 DirectX 11-capable integrated graphics (obviously part of the same die as the CPU itself).

Meanwhile, 2 GB of RAM (random access memory) provide the APU with all needed resources, while a SSD (solid state drive) brings along 32 GB of storage space.

Other specifications include the obligatory 802.11 b/g/n WiF, Bluetooth 3.0, stereo speakers, USB 2.0, a built-in thumb trackpad, two webcams, mini HDMI and, of course, the 10.1-inch touchscreen.

This panel is a LED-backlit IPS screen with a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and is kept running, along with everything else, by a 4,200 mAh battery.

Everything is packed inside a frame of 271 x 183 x 15.5 mm (the weight is 850 grams) and priced at 529 Euro. 3G can also be added for a premium sum.
