MSI appears to have grown fond of its line of ultraportable computer systems, as the Taiwanese company is preparing to further expand the lineup with the introduction of a couple of new models. What is interesting is that, unlike the majority of laptop vendors currently competing in the ultraportable, ultra-thin laptop space, MSI has decided to provide its customers with a complete range of systems, offering a choice for either an Intel CULV or an AMD Neo system. Just recently, details on a new AMD Neo-based laptop have surfaced on the Internet, as the company is planning to launch said model in Europe.

According to details that have surfaced on Netbook Italia, the Taiwanese company has decided to put AMD's Yukon platform in its Wind U200 system, providing users with an alternative to the increasingly growing market of CULV-based laptops. The Wind U210 has been designed with an AMD Athlon X2 Dual-core MV40 processor, coupled with 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB hard disk drive. The system will boast a 12-inch display, powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon X1250 integrated graphics chip.

The Wind U210 will reportedly be available in two variants, the U210-002 and the U210-010, each one equipped to meet the requirements of a different type of user. Both systems will be powered by the same 1.6GHz MV-60 processor and the aforementioned GPU, but there are a couple of differences between the two, which can also be seen in the price difference. The first will boast just 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB SATA HDD and will run on Microsoft's Windows XP Home operating system. The second comes with 2GB of DDR2, 250GB hard drive and Windows Vista OS.

Both systems also feature wireless 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and 10/100 Ethernet LAN connectivity, built-in webcam and black or gray color options. There's no integrated optical drive and the entire system is said to weigh around 1.5Kg. Price-wise, the U210-002 will be available for 399 Euros including VAT, while the second model is priced at 499 Euros including VAT.
