16-inch laptop based on Centrino 2

MSI has recently announced the introduction of a new Centrino 2-based portable computer system, designed to provide users with a high level of audio and video entertainment. The new laptop, part of the company's E-series family, has been featured with a 16-inch display and has been designed to provide users with support for some of the latest multimedia applications on the market. Aside from adopting the latest hardware available, the new system also incorporates some of MSI's unique features, including an exclusive Cinema Pro technology, which enables the end-user to immediately switch to a Movie Mode, said to enrich the user's movie experience.

Built on the PM45 and ICH9M chipset, the new 16-inch laptop from MSI, dubbed Bravo EX627, has been designed to enable users with support for the latest multimedia applications on the market. The system's display is capable of an HD-resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, with the help of the integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics processing unit, featuring 512MB of GDDR2 memory. Built on Intel's Centrino 2 technology, the new laptop can support a number of Core 2 Duo processors and up to 4GB of DDR2 memory.

Additional features include a 2.0MP webcam, HD audio with one subwoofer and two speakers, Gigabit LAN, optional Bluetooth and wireless 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, HDMI out, 3-in-1 card reader, a high-capacity 320GB SATA hard drive and a DVD Super-Multi Blu-Ray optical drive. There are also three USB 2.0 ports, D-Sub and eSATA connectors, and an ExpressCard. As most of MSI's latest laptops, the new system is also equipped with an ECO Engine, offering support for up to 5 different modes of operation, depending on the user's performance requirements.

Despite no word on pricing and availability, the new laptop is expected to provide users with options for 6- and 9-cell battery packs, weighing in at just 2.7kg, when equipped with a 6-cell battery.
