MSI has just added the new VR340 ultra-portable notebook to its mobile lineup. The new model comes with an aerodynamic case design, that hides from the user all the openings at the imbrication edges.

The 13.3-inch mobile PC takes a swift and practical approach to computing. Apart from the technology that neatly masks the openings around the edges, the rest of the notebook is shaped using an elementary design. The VR340 model weighs about 2.2 kilograms and seems to be a must-have for the computer users that are always on the run.

The manufacturer seems to have forgotten about any fashion concerns, and focused more on conceiving a notebook that can be used comfortably for a long period of time. Packing a full-sized ergonomic keyboard, the new notebook can be used with maximum productivity, whether you like to chat online or have to type a couple of pages of text.

According to the company, all the keys are placed properly, easy to access and with a nice feedback feeling. Switching from a fully-fledged desktop PC to the notebook does not require adjustment time or productivity loss.

Under the common-looking casing, the manufacturer has included an Intel Pentium dual-core processor, 6 USB 2.0 ports, GL960-lCH8-M chipset, a built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam and wireless microphone for live-conferencing, 3GB of system RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and an 80GB hard drive that can be optionally upgraded to the 250GB version. On top of that, the VR340 comes with DVD Super Multi optical drive.

The LCD display is equipped with the Amazing Crystal Vision technology, that allows users to effortlessly read documents at all text sizes. Moreover, it also delivers more screen space than a conventional 12-inch display, while being more portable than a 14-inch model.

The notebook is already available on the Taiwanese market. However, the company did not announce pricing or availability details for the other markets.
