MSI Unveils the Crystal Laptop Line

- The 12.1-inch luxury laptop is simply sophisticated

By: Bogdan Botezatu, Hardware Editor

Not long ago, MSI released a hardcore overclocked gaming laptop dressed unconventionally and ready to give its best. Today, the manufacturer has introduced a fashionable and extremely stylish notebook, dressed for a night at the opera.

The pearl white finished notebook case is
decorated with 120 handcrafted crystals forming a ring on the laptop's lid. Its laced aspect is somewhat tricky, because under the hood the user finds a real surprise: the PR200 Crystal Collection features an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor based on the Intel "Santa Rosa" mobile platform combined with Intel GM965 chipset.

The 12.1-inch "Amazing Crystal Vision" display with 1280×800 resolution TFT WXGA delivers a crisp, crystal-clear image even in fast motion scenes such as sport transmissions, and is powered by the integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100.

Storage options are not modest at all: the 160GB SATA HDD makes sure that you have enough free space at hand. System memory has not been spared, so the notebook comes with 2GB DDR2/667MHz that can easily be extended to 3GB, should the initial value not suffice.

The ultra-portable PR200 measures 303 mm X 231.5 mm and weighs just 31.8kg – battery included. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium and features a DVD Super Multi optical drive, an HDMI output, a VGA port, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot and a 4-in-1 media card reader as well as a built-in 1.3 mega pixel webcam. Optionally, the user can pick a built-in TV tuner to go along with the laptop.

Since it's a fashion parade, additional accessories can be purchased with the laptop to complete its chic design: two leather carrying cases in different sizes, a specially designed pearl white mouse and a 1GB crystal-studded flash drive. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced, but this is a really special product so don't expect to get the best at bargain prices.
