Following similar releases from other graphics card makers, MSI has now decided to officially announce its latest additions to a vast line of NVIDIA GeForce-based graphics cards. The new models are based on the successful GeForce 9800GT graphics processing unit and have been specifically designed to provide computer users with an energy-efficient alternative for today's video accelerators. Coming in both 512MB and 1GB variants, the new cards from MSI are now ready to provide users with the necessary performance for their mainstream computer systems.

The technical specifications of the new cards are roughly similar to those of the company's previous models, but provide a more energy-efficient power control technology. According to MSI, these new products can deliver a decrease in power consumption of about 25%, while still delivering the performance of their predecessors. In addition to the power enhancements made by NVIDIA's latest GPUs, the new cards also take advantage of MSI's latest generation of capacitors, Hi-c CAP and solid state chokes (SSC). This combination is meant to provide users with an optimum balance between performance and power reduction.

They are also packed with 1 DVI and 1 D-Sub connector, and deliver support for DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.1

As with other NVIDIA-based cards, the new video accelerators from MSI will enable you with support for some of NVIDIA's latest technologies, including SLI, PhysX and CUDA. These are meant to enhance your viewing experience and provide support for future upgrade. Unfortunately, the company hasn't unveiled any details regarding the pricing of its latest cards.
