Perhaps Apple likes to think that launching its latest portable MacBook computer systems will make every PC user out there consider buying a Mac instead of a PC. However, portable PCs hold the majority of the market, which is why we’re constantly seeing a fair number of systems vendors announcing the latest additions to their portable computer systems lineup.

This is also where the new VR630 from MSI comes in – a 16-inch notebook designed to bring a number of features packed inside a system that could easily pass for a portable multimedia rig.

MSI's new VR630 notebook is based on an NVIDIA MCP77MV chipset, which means it will support AMD's Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core and Sempron Mobile processors. The system is built to support a maximum of 4GB of memory, and can be equipped with a high-capacity SATA hard drive to deliver up to 320GB of storage. Additionally, users will also benefit from a 3-in-1 card reader, a DVD Super Multi optical drive and many connectivity options that come to round up the list of features this latest notebook from Taiwanese manufacturer MSI packs.

Other technical specifications include a 6-cell or a 9-cell battery option, 1.3MP webcam, HD Audio with 2 built-in stereo speakers, modem, Gigabit Etherent and wireless 802.11 b/g/n network. The system's wide 16-inch display can output a maximum resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. With battery, the overall weight of the VR630 is somewhere around 2.54Kg.

Aside from the tech specs, MSI touts its VR630 as coming with a unique, brand new texture that is said to bring a sense of tranquility whenever it is being used. Overall, the system seems to be both stylish and to come with high-performance specifications. Unfortunately, there is a downside, in that the company hasn't specified any pricing or availability details yet, but chances are the VR630 should make its way to store shelves pretty soon.
