As the competition on the graphics card market intensifies, manufacturers keep looking for new ways of boosting their products' appeal, and MSI has now begun to bundle coupons for StarCraft II trial versions with all GeForce models above N240GT.

As come end-users may have already found out, it was recently revealed that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 card had received a significant price cut.

This was one of the more obvious hints at the possibility of a price war, or at least a more aggressive marketing strategy in general on NVIDIA's part.

Still, the other video boards based on NVIDIA technology also need to be at their best, leading to more or less unusual marketing strategies.

Of course, it falls to the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker's partners to decide on how they will promote their boards, overclocking and custom designs being just two of the possibilities.

That said, Micro-Star International has reportedly decided to call upon the popularity of a certain, recently-released game in order to propel its sales.

To be more specific, a significant number of its NVIDIA GeForce Series video boards will now be offered in a bundle with a coupon for the download of a free trial of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.

StarCraft II is the acclaimed strategy game released by Blizzard and has already sold in over 3 million copies.

The coupon will be used until December 31 and allows one to download the game and play it for up to 7 hours in a 14-day timeline.

The video cards included in this offer are all of the GeForce models superior to the N240GT and sold in North America, Africa, India, Europe and the Middle East.
