The only reason it doesn't qualify is that it is just not thin enough

Micro-Star International almost built a new ultrabook when it designed the MSI S30, but it might be a good thing the notebook doesn't qualify as such, because it might have ended up costing a lot more than $500 / 384 Euro.

The MS30 has a 22mm profile and a weight of 1.4 kilos (0.86 inch and 3.08 pounds, respectively).

The so-called heart of the laptop is an Intel Core i3 CPU (central processing unit), complete with HD 4000 graphics.

An HDD provides 500GB of storage, though an optional SSD of 64 GB can be added too. The DDR3 memory amount was not mentioned.

MSI's notebook also gets VGA, HDMI, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, plus a 4-cell battery or an 8-cell one.

As for the display, it has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Quite average, but enough for the size.

Sadly, no availability information exists, and even the price we gave above is just speculation.
