Devices will handle basic tasks while using low amounts of power and taking up little space

Even though, unlike netbooks and nettops, all-in-one PCs didn’t exactly see a popularity surge during the past year, they are still appealing to those end-users interested in a machine capable of handling basic computing tasks while taking up little to no desk space. To expand this area a bit, MSI will introduce the Wind Top AP1920 all-in-one and two nettop systems at the Consumer Electronics Show.

MSI has already been revealed to have plans for the introduction of several netbook PCs (such as the Wind U160) around the same time. The all-in-one, along with the Wind Box DE220 and Wind Box DC500 Mini PCs, will enable the hardware maker to grab a higher share of the Pineview and entry-level desktop markets.

The Wind Top AP1920 will make use of the Atom D510 or Atom D410 Pineview CPUs. This device is only 35mm thick and uses an 18.5-inch 16:9 display. The use of the aforementioned processors will allow for conventional desktop-level performance while employing low-power usage and producing equally low noise. In addition, the PC can be wall-mounted at an adjustable viewing angle (between -5 and 15 degrees).

The two nettops planned by MSI for release at CES, the Wind Box DE220 and Wind Box DC500, will save energy and desk space. Both, like the Wind Top AP1920, use the Pine Trail platform and are built with special aims. The DC500 is designed in such a way as to stand upright on the desk and is about 60% smaller than a conventional desktop. On the other hand, the Wind Box DE220 is only as wide/long as an A4 sheet of paper and can be wall-mounted behind a display.

MSI hasn't given out any details on the products' prices and specifications but, of course, the information will be made available at CES in Las Vegas.
