Usually, I only cover overclocking records when they're established, but MSI has put so much effort into its “No Limits” contest that I couldn't just overlook it.

The Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) competition has been going on for a while, and is at the sixth edition.

“No Limits” is just the name of the Grand Finals that will take place on October 18, 2013. That's on Friday this week.

Teams of overclockers from 13 countries will be there, putting the MSI OC series Z87 MPOWER MAX motherboards through their paces, along with the MSI GTX 780 LIGHTNING graphics cards.

Intel, NVIDIA, BenQ, Cooler Master, Corsair and Plextor will be providing the hardware components for everyone, to ensure equal chances across the board.

The computers used in the overclocking contest will have the following components: MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX Motherboard, MSI GTX 780 LIGHTNING Graphics Card, Intel Core i7-4770K Processor, BenQ XL2420T LCD Monitor, Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W Power Supply, Corsair Vengeance Pro Series - 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 DRAM 2800MHz C12 Memory Kit, Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme SSD.
