MSI has unveiled their latest creation in the video card field, the MSI NX8800GTS Series, based on Nvidia's successful 8800GTS GPU. MSI's video card contains the updated graphic processor, with an increased number of stream processors for enhanced application performance.

The new GeForce? 8800GTS GPU are the result of a new wafering technology, to effectively reduce overheating, an essential aspect when it comes to GPU overclocking. At the same time, the advanced wafering technology has allowed Nvidia to increase the stream processor count, from 96 in the first revision to 128 in the second.

The stream processors deal with the video details, such as fog or smoke in a game. The more stream processors a video card features, the faster the image will be processed and rendered on the display. The operating clock has also been boosted from 1500MHz -the GeForce 8800GT model to 1625MHz - in the GeForce 8800GTS.

The video card comes with a PCI Express 2.0 interconnect, to deliver highest data throughput, as the new PCI Express 2.0 standard allows a double data rate transfer when compared to the previous version. Even though the MSI NX8800GTS can manage twice as much bandwidth as the older PCI Express in the first generation, the video card offers wide support for older motherboards, as it is backwards compatible with the PCI Express standard.

"We can expect that year 2008 there will be more native DirectX? 10 games coming up", comments Vincent Lai, director of MSI's Global Marketing Group. "There will be bunch of special effects that make use of the power of DirectX? 10, such as DOF, Motion Blur, and Soft Particles. Gamers must have MSI NX8800GTS Series to make the gaming experience smooth enough like it should be!"

Although the motherboard is extremely powerful and overclocking-friendly, the low prices can give the enthusiasts the opportunity of grabbing multiple MSI NX8800GTS Series graphics cards to be joined in a single SLI platform.
