MSI plans to update its graphics card lineup with the introduction of a custom-built version of the GeForce GTX 275 graphics accelerator, which the Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA announced early back in April. Due to be showcased during next week's Computex show, the N275GTX Lightning card from MSI appears to have adopted a few extras, compared to the reference model. Among other things, the card will make use of a dual-fan, dual-slot heatsink cooler, specifically designed to allow the GTX 275 to provide users with its true performance capability.

Although the card is just days away from its unveiling, the technical details regarding the GPU's memory and clock frequencies are currently a mystery. We do know that, according to a recent article on vr-zone, it will make use of a new set of yellow Solid State Chokes (SSC), a welcomed move from the traditional choke that was featured on reference designs. These traditional chokes were reportedly behind an issue that generated a high-frequency noise when the card was under heavy load. With the upcoming model, MSI has managed to remove this issue and will provide computer enthusiasts with a valuable alternative to current reference GTX 275 cards.

Another feature that has been designed to boost the performance of the upcoming card, is the use of a double-fan, dual-slot cooling solution. This will enable the card's GPU to work at above-reference clock speeds, thus providing the end-user with a faster performance and a more reliable working environment.

Unfortunately, as mentioned before, pricing, availability and other technical details of MSI's upcoming N275GTX Lightning card will be made available at a later date, most likely during next week's Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan. This is also the place where MSI is expected to unveil a couple of other new products.
