After recently announcing the multimedia notebook designed on Intel's latest mobile technology, Centrino 2, MSI has introduced today two new notebooks, each one designed for a different market segment. While the Intel Centrino 2-enabled PX200 is meant to offer mobility with high work efficiency, the GX705 has been built to provide gamers with a powerful portable gaming rig.

The new Intel Centrino2-enabled PX200 is part of the company's Professional series, and is meant to offer a high-performance level, as required by today's professional users. It combines Intel's latest PM 45 chipset with the graphics power of an ATI Radeon HD 3450, equipped with 256MB of DDR3 memory. Coming in a 12.1-inch form factor, the notebook sports a magnesium alloy casing for a high-portability level, and weighs only 1.8kg, battery included. The PX200 can be equipped with a maximum of 4GB of memory and a SATA hard drive to provide a total of 320GB of storage space. It can be equipped with either a 4-cell or a 8-cell battery.

The company's gaming notebook, which is based on Intel's PM965 chipset, has been designed to provide users with the computing power of the latest Intel processors, combined with a powerful NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics card, which features an impressive 512MB of DDR2 memory. The notebook is equipped with 4GB of DDR2 memory and, as you might expect from such a gaming product, comes in a 17-inch form factor. In addition, the GX705 features 4 built-in speakers and a 2.0MP webcam. It comes with support for wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth V2.0, and can be equipped with either a 6-cell or a 9-cell battery. At 3.6kg, this is certainly not the most lightweight notebook on the market, but it will surely deliver the performance required by today's gaming users.

In addition, the new GX705 comes with colorful W, A, S, D keys and a full-sized keyboard with built-in numeric pad. However, until now, the Taiwanese manufacturer hasn't specified any details regarding pricing and availability for these two notebooks.
